Dr. Ritam Chakrabarty has done his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata. He did his MD in Immuno-Hematology and Blood Transfusion from the prestigious Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, the oldest Medical College of India. He was awarded a Gold Medal in his Final MD Exam. In addition, he has received training in Transplant Immunology & HLA from TTK Rotary BMST Blood Centre, Bangalore.
He has over 10 years of experience in the field of Transfusion Medicine. Currently he is the Consultant and Head of the department of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Bank at AMRI Hospitals, Kolkata. He was previously attached with Apollo Gleneagles Hospital Kolkata, Narayana Super Speciality Hospital Howrah and KPC Medical College Kolkata.
He takes keen interest in ImmunoHematology, Apheresis, Transplant Immunology and Advanced Blood Banking methodologies. He has more than 10 publications in national and International Journals.
Dr. Ritam Chakrabarty is the elected Zonal Representative (East Zone) of the Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine.
